Pearl grey gloss kitchen – Cambridge

Why were you looking for a new kitchen?

Our old kitchen was functional (says Sarah Williams) but not to our taste for the long term as we were after something more modern and wanted the finished article to form the centrepiece of our downstairs space. We had two supporting walls knocked down joining the kitchen and dining room and removed a narrow hallway. The open plan space is a fantastic family area where we all come together and enjoy a chat, drink and cook together. We always now eat at the dining room table catching up on the events of the day. It's a fantastic communal space.

Having one company supply all of the expertise, and manage the site, made it a lot less stressful.

Williams, Cambridge

Why did you choose Kitchenology for your project?

We visited a few showrooms looking for a quality kitchen and from researching several brands we knew we wanted Alno and for Kitchenology to supply it. We liked the fact that they had a design studio, with experts who were able to tell us all about the products on offer and to help us design our kitchen.

What made Kitchenology stand out?

Kitchenology provide a complete service from design, order to delivery, building works, plastering, carpentry and installation. Having one company supply all of the expertise, and to be responsible for managing the site, made the process a lot less stressful. The only outside contractor we used was a central heating engineer.

What was your biggest fear before ordering your kitchen?

The biggest fear was getting the design wrong as it would have been an expensive mistake. Thankfully, it turned out perfectly and we're so pleased with every aspect of our new kitchen and our new space.

What specifically was your favourite part of your Kitchenology Experience?

They have a great installation team in Jon, Joe and Brandon who are excellent tradesmen. It can be hard having people in your house for several weeks, but the team are so respectful, always jolly (although not sure about their singing) and a pleasure to have in your house. But most importantly, they are perfectionists and the quality of their work is amazing.

What did you like about their service?

Nothing was too much trouble. Jon would always make sure every step of the way that we were happy with all aspects of the installation and had great innovative ideas when alternative solutions were required.

What did you like about their installation?

It has to be the quality of workmanship, attention to detail and quality products.

What specific feature did you most like about your kitchen?

We love every aspect of our kitchen. The coffee machine was an extravagance which we are glad we chose as it wasn't in the first design! It all looks great and the whole family enjoy spending time in there.

Would you recommend Kitchenology?

I definitely would – we absolutely love our new kitchen.
